Let's talk about the month of May

Hello May #mentalhealthawarenessmonth

I am not ashamed to share the hard.

I am not ashamed to share my flaws.

To live in a society that stigmatizes mental health so much it denies depression but mourns suicide.

Judges the moms who don't get help.

Judges the moms who need help.

That is the society we live in.

The society that thinks the pill makes you weak.

Every single person is fighting a battle you know nothing about.

What I carry is heavy.

What I show is only what you can handle.

This life is not glamorous.

This life is not always desirable.

We are finally seeing things without a filter.

You will remove the tape.

You will breathe & You will speak.

You will never be silenced again.

Those who bully you for using your voice have never felt what it is like to be silenced in this world.

Your voice is worthy of being heard.

I refuse to apologize for advocating.

I refuse to apologize for putting myself first.

I refuse to be silent to please another.

I'm not ashamed of my sons.

I'm not ashamed we are a family that has children with additional needs.

I'm not ashamed of being outspoken & blunt.

I'm not ashamed of being given a chance to advocate with other advocates publicly.

I'm not ashamed because every time someone in this big beautiful world says something instead of being silent, that is one step closer to a better world for everyone.

I'm not ashamed of who I associate myself with because everyone who has crossed my path teaches me something & shows me a part of the world I was unaware of.

I'm sick & tired of constantly wondering who I will offend today since the society we live in tends to be overly sensitive on social media.

Here's the thing: I am not ashamed of the beautiful life I live, the kids I'm raising, or anything that I advocate out of my mouth.

I am not ashamed of this unfiltered life

& you shouldn't be either, cause at the end of the day, everyone is human doing the best they can .

Katie E

Hello Friends, I am a mother of 3 beautiful children. My two boys are on the autism spectrum. Our family lives in Canada. I am a lover of coffee & I enjoy spreading kindness to as many people as I cross paths with. I dabble in blogging but my calling in life is advocating for those who have no voice & need their story to be told.
