A hallmark Christmas is possible. 

Is it possible? 

To have a Christmas that has the joy I grew up on. 

Every single year growing up, hallmark Christmas movies were part of the celebration for our home. 

It was a tradition with popcorn, treats out in dishes and everyone would snuggle up on the couch to watch the show that had a heartwarming plot line for us to digest each year. 

This year as the world feels just like it did last year, a little broken and a dabble of chaos, I find myself asking the following question. 

Is it possible for a family like ours, when the world is in chaos to have a Christmas as joyful as a hallmark Christmas movie? 

I do not know the answer.

There is something about not having the answer to that question that is heavy on my heart. 

When does joy come into our lives, if not during the holiday season?

I worry about my kids.

I worry about them remembering the world in chaos. 

I worry about their joy not being enough, not just for Christmas but for every single day of their life. 

All I can do is my best and even that at times is in question. 

Is it my best? 

And if doing my best is not enough, then what? 

This year, I will make an effort not to worry about all the things out of my control. 

This year, I will continue to do my best by keeping joy alive in our home.

We may not have the same amount of joy in our Christmas as a hallmark movie, but we will have each other and that is something not everyone can say. 

Family is the key to joy and as I age older I see that. 

A hallmark Christmas is possible for those who welcome joy into their hearts and home.
